Nusselt Number Measurement of Air Flow Between Rotor and Stator of a Generator

 

In this article, turbulent flow heat transfer in the air gap between rotor & stator of the generator under nonhomogenous heat flux has studied experimentally. Rotor is consist of four symmetrical triangular grooves and stator without grooves. The relative heat flux between rotor & stator is 1 to 3. The temperature and heat flux in three axial and two angular position of inner and outer cylinder surface is measured. Also, pressure drop of air flow within the air gap is measured. In this experiments axial Reynolds number of air and rotational velocity of rotor ranges 4000
